I started riding when I was five. I atteded Norfolk County Agricultural High School where I was an Equine Major there, and was able to take part in riding lessons as well as learning about horse care. I also took part in FFA Horse judging all four years, and our team won the MA state competition and placed at Nationals as well. Throughout high school I was also a working student at a barn in Norwell for 3 years, were I helped care for horses on a fast growing farm. I went to the University of Findlay to further my equine career. While there I rode 5-6 days a week and was responsible for caring for multiple assigned horses. There were high expectations, and we were responsible for keeping our horses looking show ready. I graduated early and started a full time job straight out of college at the horse rescue where I interned. There I continued to learn and grow into a strong passionate horsewoman. I’m currently looking for the next step in my equine career.
Though originally a Hunter jumper, I currently specialize in biomechanically correct riding for both people and the horse. My goal is to work with horses from the ground up, and focus on their physical and mental well being. I have a strong knowledge of body work, nutrition, rehab, retraining, working with green horses, problem horses, rescues, etc…
I started out riding English and considered myself a hunter jumper rider up through college. Now I focus more on ground work, horsemanship, proper biomechanics, flatwork, and basics of dressage.
In high school I mainly competed in small local schooling shows. I was on the IHSA team for a season in college, and also competed at WEC in Ohio my freshman year of college. Post graduation I have been attending local shows with my own horse, and showing a personal horse for my current job for the horse’s first show experience.
