Assisting the manager on day to day yard duties, including feeding, rugging, mucking out, turning out horses, administering treatments, bandaging, exercising horses by either lunging, long reining, hand walking, water treadmill or dry walker. Providing treatments such as equissage and Theragun treatments, TENS or NMES, Cryotherapy etc. Handling foals, weanlings and yearlings, and breeding duties in the breeding season. Work is often sole work, and absolute attention to detail is paramount. The applicant must be have initiative and a good work ethic but also be happy to follow orders. Some days when its quiet, gardening and other maintenance work may be also carried out. Veterinary nursing experience is a bonus but not required, and experience in rehabilitation or therapy also considered an asset, but willingness to learn and develop a career in this industry will be highly regarded over formal qualifications.

Requirements

Must be confident handling difficult horses, minimum 5 years full time employment within the equine professional industry and be able to provide references. Any Yearling prep, breaking in, or veterinary nursing experience a bonus.
