Due to unforeseen circumstance Northmore Stud are looking to recruit an Assistant Stud Groom to join our small friendly team. The applicant should be able to demonstrate good horsemanship skills having previously spent a significant amount of time working with mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings on a successful Stud Farm.

The duties will cover all aspects of work on a Thoroughbred Stud Farm and in particular experience of foaling is essential plus sales preparation. Enthusiasm, attention to detail, high standards of workmanship as well as an ability to work as part of a team are crucial attributes.

We also have a machine to help with the mucking out so makes the job a lot easier as takes a lot of the agro out of it.

Previous experience of handling staff would be helpful. Applicant must be able to drive and have a clean licence and also be able to drive a small horsebox.

It is essential that any applicant has previous experience and a good knowledge of foaling as this is done on a shared basis with the Stud Groom. Being able to deal with problems on a day to day basis in the absence of Stud Groom Good people skills

There is a large 3 bedroom family house on site with a garage and a small garden.

Hours 7.30 to 4 Mon to Friday and every other weekend off save that in the Breeding Season you may be called onto help with problems but then any candidate would be aware of this.
