Super opportunity for a competent assistant at Seagry Stud - A friendly dressage yard in Wiltshire with a real family feel. Currently we are NOT breeding, we are focusing on producing our young homebred horses. It is a lovely private yard with 7 top quality horses, a combination of young stock, broodmares and young dressage competition horses. We have a vacancy for a Live-in contracted groom or potentially- freelance. You will work at times alongside the owner. The time is split between handling the horses and yard. This is a non-riding position but ability to ride may be helpful but not essential. The yard is in a beautiful location, is quiet and clean. You will need your own transport as we live in a village with limited public transport. There is no need to be able to drive an HGV. The job offered at Seagry Stud is part time. The Summer work is spread over 5 days (approx 20 hrs) and 5.5 days (approx 25 hrs) in the Winter. Pay is based on the NMW and there is free accommodation if contracted. The accommodation is a lovely self contained fully furnished flat, with its own private entrance. It has one double bedroom with shower en-suite. Lounge/kitchen and lovely views across the valley. If required the flat will be provided as 'essential accommodation' which includes electricity, heating, council tax, free unlimited internet access and TV. There is space for a couple but not children. We are a very friendly, easy going yard where we seek to be hard working, flexible and honest. Regretfully, we do not have space for own horses. A well-behaved (cat friendly) dog may be considered for the right candidate. You need to be a 'House Proud' person with high standards.

Self starting, very committed, reliable, honest, flexible and with a good sense of humour.

This is not a high pressure role, the pace is relaxed and we enjoy our work.

This is a quiet location so you need to be a responsible person and happy working on your own at times.

Experience handling and backing young stock would be an advantage but it is limited so not absolutely essential.
