FULL TIME GROOM

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic groom to join team at our racehorse rehabilitation yard in Great Cheverell, Wiltshire. The successful candidate will be a dedicated, motivated person and preferably have experience in the racing or competition horse industry. Candidates must demonstrate excellent horsemanship skills.

Responsible to: Yard Manager

Duties will vary but will include:

Care and feeding of horses, including mucking out stables, sweeping the yard, mixing feeds, soaking hay, watering horses, checking horses that are turned out, bringing in and turning out from fields etc. Assisting with horse exercise routines. Assist with the general maintenance of the yard, to ensure a safe environment. Keeping the yard tidy under the direction of the Yard Manager. Daily tack cleaning and washing equipment. Helping with hospitality and open days held.

Salary: Dependent on experience.

Hours of Employment: To be discussed, including some weekend work.
