Would you like to be a valued part of a team and share your love and expertise of horses with our local community? Libben Horsemanship Academy is located in west Bakersfield farm country, ½ mile south of 7th Standard Rd in California.
We are looking for an English Riding Instructor! Who we are at Libben Horsemanship Academy: • We serve people of all ages learning all elements of horse care and horseback riding. Our mission is not only to help our students learn to excel with their horsemanship, but to experience comprehensive personal development for a lifetime of learning. • We maintain a strong work ethic and are open-minded to different ideas and techniques and expect our instructors to do the same. • A family friendly barn and community. Foul language or gossip will not be tolerated. • A fast-growing lessons program with sensible hours, breaks, and schedules (read: no 6 AM to 9 PM work days!) What you'll do: • Teach students of varying skills/experience on our lesson horses using our levels-based curriculum and lessons plan as a guide for instruction. • Respond to client communications. • Conduct assessments for new students. • Assist with barn chores, feeding, horse care and health, turn out, and exercise. • Teach unmounted group horsemanship classes. • Work with young horses and school lesson horses as needed.
Requirements
Who you are: • Someone with previous experience teaching English disciplines (riding, not writing or literature). • A lifelong horse person who is obsessed with horses and their physical and mental well-being. (Natural/gentle horsemanship) • Organized, responsible, reliable, and sense of humor. • Kind, accountable, customer experience oriented, upbeat, and cheerful (99% of the time – we all have off days). • Smart, trainable, open-minded – look for ways to learn and grow! • Quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. • Have the sense to know when something should be a text or email, versus a phone call or face to face conversation. Availability: • Currently part time but could rapidly grow to full time (and possibly build a show team)! • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, Saturday mornings, with room for growth.
