To manage various aspects of a small 16-horse equestrian facility in Avon, CT.
Job includes:
- horse feeding
- blanketing
- turn-out, turn-in
- hay management
- feed management
- water cleaning/filling,
- some stall and paddock mucking
- horse care
- property maintenance/care and other typical chores (minimal)... volunteers assist with the workload.
Additionally, if they possess the skill set, the candidate may have an opportunity to teach lessons and/or run some of our after-school youth programs.
This is a 5-day-a-week job most weeks.
Must be available as early as 7 AM and as late as 7 PM some days (schedule to be determined upon hiring)
Other jobs available include program facilitator, handyman, property management/groundskeeper, and volunteer opportunities. See below

Equestrian Employer Details
We are a small nonprofit horse rescue located on our 20-acre private homestead. Currently, 12 rescue horses reside here, some will live out their days here, others are available for adoption. We work to continue training all horses and keep them moving and in shape, knowing that the healthy horse stands a better chance of a safe future. Many of our equines provide lessons for beginners to advanced intermediates. Most of our chores get done with the help of amazing volunteers but we are in need of an experiences horse person to take on barn management, volunteer management, lesson programs, equine-assisted learning programs, fundraising, event planning and property maintenance.
