Looking for an experienced groom who has worked at a professional show hunter, jumper, dressage or eventing stable. Salary is based on your experience--most people start at $1000/week. Five and a half day work week. 7am-4pm + some night check. Paid vacation after one year, sick days, and health insurance reimbursement.
My farms are in Lambertville, NJ (summer), and Loxahatchee, FL (winter). Beautiful, private housing is provided in NJ and next season in FL. Don't have housing in FL this season, but can help with costs.
I have 2 grooms for 4 dressage horses. Mucking, feeding, grooming, tacking up, cooling out, wrapping legs, tack cleaning, dragging arena, possibly some farm care, etc. All the regular groom stuff. I haven't shown in a few years, but I don't rule it out. I am detail oriented, and will show you exactly how I want my horses handled.
My current groom has been with me for 3 years. I'm hoping to find another person who is reliable and really likes caring for horses to work beside him. If you don't enjoy caring for horses, this is not the job for you. You must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Please reach out if you are looking for a well paid, long term (at least a year) job. This is not a riding job, and we don't have space for your horse. Pets possible, but can not be loose at the barn. We are currently in Wellington, FL until April 2025. No drugs, no drinking on the job. Must be able to pass a background check.
