Classical dressage intern program now open for students starting June 1st or later! Packages of stays for 3 months or 6 months available, though longer term is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the art of classical dressage, including the work in-hand, working equitation, and mounted longsword fencing from a Certified Classical Dressage Instructor. Students assist with stable chores, including cleaning, feeding, grooming, and assisting with events. We do have some other animals, so some assistance may be requested for their care (maybe 10min/day). Students receive six lessons per week in exchange for six days of work in addition to free participation in hosted workshops, lectures, etc. There is a wide range of lesson types available, and working students also assist with horses in training (starting young horses, assisting with in-hand work, etc.). There is also enough time in the day and extra assistance for online students to stay enrolled in their programs.

Applicants must be eager to learn, organized, and responsible. They must also have good communication skills, as we emphasize open communication and have zero tolerance for barn drama (all drama must be settled via duel with foam swords... this is the way). They must be experienced in grooming and be comfortable riding at walk/trot/canter. There are opportunities to compete with coaching and participate in clinics as we host them. For long-term students, there are seasonal opportunities to learn about breeding and other aspects of stable management. If the student shows enough proficiency and wants to participate, they can exhibit horses at demos and exhibitions. $500/month stipend and living quarters provided (board for one horse may be available in the future). Minimum age 18. Part or full-time opportunities available for those who live close by and who don't want to live on-site. Find out more about us at tempusrenatus.org/lessons
