Employee will be responsible for feeding, afternoon stall picking, turnout daily; grooming & tacking on some days. Our farm has 12 -14 horses, with a 10-stall expansion planned in 2024. The herd consisting of training horses and breeding stock. We are a ridiculously organized group of folks whose top priority is a peaceful quiet barn, that is conducive to the working of our team and horses. Our horses work five days a week, with Thursdays off for vets etc. and Sunday's off to rest. I am a graduate of the L education program with distinction and a USDF bronze and silver medalist. My emphasis is on education, and I update and maintain a set of goals at all times. This Position is Six/ fivedays a week, approximately 8am - 4. (Day off depending on show schedule in season)

Required Skill Set: Must live in the USA or already have visa Ability to hack/ warm up dressage horses The ability to lift a 50 lb. bag of grain and/or bale of hay. Feeding of morning and afternoon grain per detailed feeding chart. Setting up grain for next meal. Blanketing changes for horses depending on weather changes. Leading to and from turn out. This requires the ability to handle stallions, young horses, as well as mature horses. Organization/ Problem Solving/ Multitasking/ Time Management Attention to detail. The ability to monitor horses or changes in health or soundness and preform basic first aid skills such as temperature, bandaging or drug administration if required.

Additional skill set for the ideal candidate: Starting young horses. Horse show grooming/braiding Body clipping/mane pulling

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be working toward their bronze medal with the desire to move beyond that point. They will be brave both in the saddle and on the ground as I am a firm believer that the horses draw their confidence from their people. This candidate will have the opportunity to hack horses, start young horses under head trainer, and exercise client's horses under trainer/ when trainer is away.

Ideal candidate will be able to braid, clip, trim, load, and lunge horses.

Navillus Dressage is a 14 stall training facility located 15 minutes from Tryon International Equestrian Center in western North Carolina. We focus on the correct and classical training of the dressage horse. Our emphasis is on the education of both horses and riders. We excel in creating happy healthy equine partners. All riding age horses and their owners are in full 5 day a week training program. In the show season we compete at the Tryon International Equestrian Center and at local schooling shows.
Our facility is situated on 46 acres with rolling hills and trails for hacking out. We boast a full size covered arena with GGT footing and mirrors for year round training. Each of our stalls is equipped with a dry lot, fans, waterers and stall mattresses for the horses care and comfort. The barn is equipped with cameras, hot & cold wash rack and luxurious tack room.
Our breeding program produces 1-2 foals per year with an emphasis on correctness, ridability and trainability.
