If you like horses and teaching people about them then working at a Dude Ranch is the way to go. It's hard work but you'll learn all you need to know to open your own horse business. Our wranglers take out guided trail rides, team pen and do cattle drives. They sit with the guests for each meal and interact with the guests all week. Light maintenance duties includes trail maintenance, weed-eating, saddle cleaning, fence repair, stall cleaning and guest activities. This is a 6 day work week, daylight to dark so it's not a job for everyone. Salary is 3 parts, base salary (money) + season bonus (money) + FREE meals + FREE wifi and FREE lodging. Opportunities exist to become a manager or horse trainer for the right applicants that want to learn. This seasonal job can become year round. You must be a citizen of the U.S. or have the appropriate visa to work in this country. If you have animals you have to get permission to bring them.

Dorm type living quarters with shared bathrooms.

You are paid a base salary each month of $1400 dollars until you get a raise. You also earn Merit Pay each working day which is paid out quarterly. Room and board, wifi and utilities are free which is part of your pay and valued at $1200/month. Base salary and benefits add up to $33k per year and you get 1 week paid vacation after 1 year service for year rounders. Raises are offered to those individuals that exhibit a good work ethic and production and can occur quickly after the 2 week training period.
