Double C Sporthorses is looking for an experienced show groom for our boutique showing jumping program (FEI experience is a big bonus). We have approx 10 horses with one other full time groom and one other working student / rider, plus our trainer/ rider. The position is a year round position with our home base in Virginia, and traveling to shows along the East Coast, with winters in Ocala. Duties to include - cleaning stalls, changing waters, turning out, feeding, keeping barn tidy, grooming and tacking up horses, bathing horses, wrapping legs and using ice boots, setting jumps, taking horses to the show ring, night check. Braiding and clipping would be a bonus! These tasks will be shared with other team members. Must be able to lift 50lbs without trouble. Very competitive salary and PTO. Flat riding and training are a possibility for the right candidate. A show record and current video will be required for riding. Unfortunately we are not able to offer board for a personal horse. We will consider a one small pet. We can provide private housing to the right candidate but are not able to accommodate a couple.

Our new team member should have extensive Hunter / Jumper show horse experience. Experience with young horses preferred. Riding not a requirement but may be a possibility for the right candidate. Must have own transportation, ability to pass a drug and background check. References from another equestrian professional required.

Private barn apartments on the farm in Virginia and Ocala. Travel accommodation is usually a shared Airbnb with other team members.

Small boutique program with minimal clients, and a very friendly staff to horse ratio (Approx 10 horses to 4 team members). It is our goal to have reasonable days without overworking our team members. Salary depending on skills and experience, and goals of the candidate. Paid time off and 5 day work week when not showing. Clipping will offer extra compensation.
