Come work on a private horse farm in beautiful Crozet, VA. The show groom is responsible for packing and unpacking the trailer and setting up at horse shows. They are also responsible for a max of 2 hunter show horses at about 10-12 horse shows a year within Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. This includes lunging, getting the horses to the show ring on time and looking show ring ready, along with post showing care including hoof packing and wrapping legs. Ability to drive a truck and trailer is preferred but not required. At home you will work side by side with the barn manager to ensure the cleanliness of the barn and proper care and health of the horses that includes some stall cleaning, feeding, medicine adminstration, minor first aid, tacking and untacking and grooming. Attention to detail, ability to be a team player, and a strong work ethic are required. While this is not a riding job, there are some opportunities for riding if the candidate desires.
