Winter hunting and prep, summer pony club. 6 days a week - ideally Mon (pm), Tues (am), Wed (am), Thurs (am) Fri (pm), Sat (am/pm). Horses live out in day and in at night in winter and out in summer. Could work well alongside another job. Daily mucking out/ poo picking. Monday and Friday evening hunting prep (wash). Hunting mornings (Tues and Sat) help with prep/ plaiting

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Stable Manager/ Instructor to oversee the care of our horses, manage farm maintenance, and teach horseback riding lessons of all skill levels.
Stable Manager ~Daily care and feeding of horses, including grooming, feeding, and monitoring health. ~Managing the upkeep of stables and horse facilities. ~Maintaining and repairing fences, buildings, and equipment. ~Implementing pest control measures as necessary ~Maintaining cleanliness throughout the property ~Managing other animals on farm (2 barn cats, you will need to feed them and notify us if there are any health problems such as, but not limited to, injuries, them not eating, etc.) ~Coordinating with veterinarians and farriers for horse care appointments ~Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory for the stables and grounds ~Overseeing any additional tasks related to farm maintenance as needed
Instructor ~Lesson Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans for riders of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced. ~Instruction: Provide individual and group riding lessons, teaching proper riding techniques, horsemanship, and safety practices. ~Horse Care Education: Instruct students on proper horse care, including grooming, tacking up, and basic health care. ~Safety: Ensure the safety of riders and horses by enforcing safety rules and guidelines, conducting regular safety checks, and maintaining a safe riding environment. ~Assessment: Assess the progress of riders and provide feedback to help them improve their skills and confidence ~Horse Management: Select and prepare appropriate horses for lessons, ensuring they are well-matched to the skill l level and size of the rider. ~Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all riding equipment is in good condition and properly fitted to both horses and riders. ~Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining clean and organized riding facilities, arenas, and tack rooms
Requirements:
~Previous experience working with horses and knowledge of
horse care techniques
~Strong understanding of lawn care and landscaping
principles
~Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and
machinery
~Excellent organizational and time management skills
~Ability to work independently and as part of a team
~Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in
various weather conditions
~Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high
standards of cleanliness and safety
~Good communication skills and ability to interact with
colleagues and visitors in a professional manner
~Certification or training in equine care or stable
management
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar role Knowledge of basic veterinary care and first aid for horses
