Duties of Current Occupation
Student in Galway college studying level 6 horsemanship and work experience In Marley stables.
Equine Work Experience
I’ve worked in 2 yards. One yard I was mucking out, feeding, fencing and leading children in lessons. For 3 years. I am currently in another yard learning how to break and handle young ponies for the first time, where I am learning lots of new skills and gaining a lot more confidence while doing this.
I have good time keeping skills, I’m always early and eager to get the day started. I am honest and reliable and will always do my hardest and put in the best effort I can, to show the best results for you but also for myself. I want to experience the world and learn new things and meet new people and gain new knowledge. I am from ireland and my dream life is in America I have dreamt of this for years. I would love to be taught lots of knowledge of horses from my employer and have fun while also getting the job done correctly.
Specialities
I have worked (unpaid) in a yard when I was 12-15 leading ponies in lessons with kids, feeding horses, mucking out all the general jobs. I also did pony club at this place where I gained knowledge and badges and had great fun.
I am currently doing a level 6 horsemanship course in Galway community college. I will have the course complete in May 2024. I am doing my work experience in Marley stables. I am learning to handle young ponies and learning how to break. I feed and muck out here too.
Type of Ride Work
I ride English style. I have never rode western even though would be cool to learn how to one day. I am loaning a horse currently riding flatwork and some jumping. I haven’t rode many green young horses, I am handling young ponies currently (lunging, driving, handling) but I haven’t rode them even though I’m down to learn this too.
Competition Details
No I have never competed professionally. I have never worked in a competition yard but I am looking to take the next step forward and learn how to be a groom or stable hand, any horse related job will excite me, I am just eager to learn the ropes off new people.
