Equine Work Experience
5 years but 2 years spent at college gained a level 1 and level 2 BHS The skills I gained are as follows- Course- BHSQ Level 1 Diploma in work-based horse care
This study program covers the basics of horse care including essential everyday stable duties and grooming. Looking after the College horses, learning safe techniques for leading, turning out and catching them.
Course- City and Guilds Level 2 Technical certificate equine
This study program covers a comprehensive introduction to the basic care of horses in the equine industry. It is practical based training and sound theoretical knowledge.
Course modules -
The principles of feeding and watering Horses ,Undertake routine stable duties ,Introduction to lunging Horses ,Assisting with the transportation of Horses (Behavior Route) ,Riding Horses under supervision ,Health and safety for Land-based industries ,Equine health and welfare ,Working in the equine industry ,Horse handling and grooming ,Horse tack and equipment
Type of Ride Work
Although my passion is for horses, unfortunately I have never had my own. As I am keen to ride and learn how to handle horse's, I had to gain this knowledge and experiences through paid lessons. I have had experience of- walking, flat, trot and canter.
Competition Details
Although I haven’t actually competed in any competitions myself, I’ve helped many of friends getting there horses show ready. I have also worked hard to prepare college horses to be ready for completions for new riders
