Duties of Current Occupation
I am Poppy Moore, I want to further my career with horses with work experience. I am a friendly and hardworking person and I have been working with horses for the past 8 years. I am hoping to start working with horses professionally.
Equine Work Experience
I have experience teaching people to ride horses. I have my own experience in riding and eventing and I took my knowledge from my experience and taught experienced riders skills in eventing and overall riding at a more intermediate and advanced level. This led me to plan and instruct lessons, which I loved as I have a great passion for the sport.
I also trained horses which taught me patience and persistence. I trained multiple to competition standard and another from a very basic schooling level into a well-rounded dressage and eventing prospect.
Specialities
I have experience in leading a team as I was a tournament manager for a few years. This role involved organising and managing sporting events with a large number of participants. I have a lot of experience riding and training for competition as well as developing key basic principles in young horses. I also have experience in the day-to-day of a stables and basic instructing/hacking. I am also am FEI qualified Judge for show jumping and have work experience scribing for dressage.
Type of Ride Work
My type of ride work is quite varied. I have experience riding very green and young horses and competing with mature experienced horses in eventing. My most recent project was training a two-year-old ex-racehorse to develop his flat work skills to solidify his foundation. I then took him on to compete in basic dressage. I have other experience with very young untrained ponies and horses and bringing them to basic competing levels as eventers.
Competition Details
I have competed in competitions since I was 11. The most significant competition I won was the U18 Victor Ludorium at Kenya's Horse of the Year Show. I have also been involved in helping with shows with my judging qualification. I don't have official work experience as a competition groom, although I have experience preparing my own and friends' horses for competition.
