Equine Work Experience

I have been riding horses since five years old. I began showing not long after practicing in hunter/jumper classes with my pony that I was leasing. I was able to own my first horse at thirteen years old. She was a 4 year old thoroughbred bay mare resting off the track for a year.

Part of owning my horse, I made the deal with my parents that I would work off lessons and board by working on the farm. I have experience doing everything from cleaning stalls, feeding/medicating, bringing in/turning out, blanketing, teaching leadline-lower level lessons, cleaning tack, readying and cleaning trailers, exercising/warming up others horses, grooming at shows. I was lucky enough to be part of an eventing barn for twenty years.

Specialities

I have tons of experience both leading teams and working with a team. In my professional career working in the animal industry I have worked my way up over the last decade to upper level management.

EQ and team morale/management are two of my strengths. During my time in my barn we were always held to high standards for not only our horses but property and our equipment. We also had to a timely schedule mapping out all tasks for the day.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience ranging from handling foals, spooky horses, and “hot horses”. I have confidence starting young horses, schooling green horses and competing seasoned horses.

My mare and I were together for fourteen years and completed up to training at the recognized level but schooled up to prelim dressage/courses and with the potential to complete a one star.

I also did work for a hunter/jumper barn many many summers ago.
