Some skills I have learned from my college classes are grooming, braiding, clipping, mane pull/trim, bandaging and wraps, IM and IV injections, oral and eye meds, lunging, free running, and general care. In my riding class I lunged horses regularly with and without a rider. In my intro lab I worked with one horse as we practiced for our final in-hand presentation and grew a bond with him. I also rode him in my riding class. During my internship I expanded on these skills while riding almost every day exercising a horse. I got more practice administering injections, hand walking horses for rehab cases, and different types of bandages/wraps (standing, hoof, and bandaging on a cellulitis case).

I have been consistently riding for 7 years with hunt seat equitation lessons as well as riding with my school's IDA team for a semester. I rode at the intro level and while I did not show any tests I learned and practiced leg yields and turns on the forehand. I have done a few schooling shows at one of my previous hunt seat barns. I am new to jumping cross rails and have a few lessons under my belt so far. I have ridden mostly lesson horses with varying temperaments.
