Equine Work Experience
I have been an equestrian for 16 years and have been an active part in the equine industry for 6. I have participated in disciplines ranging from western, hunter/jumper and currently, classical dressage. As a horseperson, I do all I can to further my knowledge in equine studies and focus on riding and training techniques that benefit and improve equine wellbeing. I am passionate about creating equestrian environments that are safe, educational, fun, accessible, and welcoming to all. I currently work at an event venue/ working farm and plan to keep that job while working another.
Specialities
Quick and efficient at keeping a clean barn, high standards in regard to ethics and quality of care of animals, I have handled foals and broodmares, horses of varying tempermates. I value groundwork and theory and I love being able to teach others of varying levels from subjects such as breed characteristics to biomechanics and everything around and in between. I love handling all types of horses and I am always open to learning more.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden green horses, experienced horses, and have re-started horses(horses not worked for long periods of time). I have ridden a variety of breeds and heights. I was a hunter/jumper for 6 years, western recreational for 6, and currently have been practicing classical dressage for 4. I value groundwork and natural horsemanship practices and quality of movement. I have ridden up to 3rd-level dressage in a schooling setting.
Competition Details
I have competed locally in my hometown for experience growing up in the hunter ring.
