I have taken various equine related classes available to me at Virginia Tech. They range from Equine Specific Nutrition, Equine Breeding Management, Equine Exercise Physiology, Equine Management and Behavior Training and Marketing Youngstock.

I have volunteered for VT breeding and equitations barns for 4 years now and have helped with various facets of these programs. From caring for injuries horses to foaling out mares. I have given oral, IM and IV medications. I am very comfortable with all sizes, breeds and personalities of horse.

I have foaled our mares (TB, Saddlebred, AQHA, Draft crosses, etc) and trained foals from birth up to 2 years old. I have assisted with mare monitoring, foal Watch and post foaling monitoring. I have handle some stallions and assisted with collections, and artificial inseminations. I have also just finished an internship with at a AQHA racing breeding farm with foaling over 100+ mares, collecting 13 stallions, and breeding over 300+ mares.

I have recently just been getting into riding in western disciplines such as ranch and western pleasure. I am currently working on my own green horse to get her back under saddle. I have done some work with starting up horses but not a lot. Just been getting into that lately.
