Duties of Current Occupation

Ensuring proper care, feeding, watering, meds, etc for an 80-100 horse operation. Watching for signs of and administering proper care for illness, lameness, and injury. Riding 5-10 horses a day. Teaching beginner-intermediate lessons

Equine Work Experience

8 years riding drill team 2 years as an intern for a western horse trainer while I went to college for equine science, mostly tuning up basic riding horses for sale 2 and 1/2 years as a barn hand at an 80 horse facility, sole charge of a 23 stall barn everything from feeding/watering to cleaning stalls and blanketing/turnout, also in charge of med board, putting client horses on treadmill/theraplate, doing laundry, keeping barn clean, training new employees, maintaining communication with clients, vets, farriers, and other barn staff, sole charge of the barn when the owner and barn manager were away at shows, halter breaking babies, doing ground work and prep for first rides on young warm bloods, and sometimes putting training rides and taking lessons on horses in need of tuning up 6 months as a rider/trainer for a barn that sells trail horses, everything from green broke 2 and 3 year olds to old ex-harness horses, also teaching lessons with 20-30 students/week over the summer

Specialities

Confident handling stallions and mares and babies, I can hand breed and have experience foaling out, I can halter break and start horses under saddle with a special interest in developing green horses

Type of Ride Work

I’ve ridden a bit of everything from ponies to draft crosses, thoroughbreds, mustangs, gaited horses, and more. Mostly not specific disciplines but I know how to tune one up and/or quiet one down both western and english. When I rode english I jumped up to 2’6
