Duties of Current Occupation
tree maintenance and removal, erosion prevention, drawing up plans as well as building sheds, re-roofing existing sheds, running heavy equipment, as well as erecting 2 2500 sq ft green houses.
Equine Work Experience
experience working on a 20-30 horse boarding/sales facility. Daily duties were, just to name a few; feeding, watering, mucking stalls, grooming, administering medications, stud handling, fouling, trainging horses both in the saddle and ground work. During high school I found time to contuine my passion for horse by helping horses with people issues. What I mean by that is I would help, for example, retired race horeses learn how to tail ride and soften them enough to be manageble for thier first time parents. Which how course was always followed up with a few weeks of teaching the owner not just how to not get hurt but how to be able to communicate with thier horse through ground work and basic riding skills.
Specialities
I have 14 years of experience with training horses. I believe in training horses to work with me as a team not trying to "break" them. I use a resistance free training approach. I trained in both Western/ rodeo to English riding to trail rides. He has many years of experience in construction and roofing. He is also ASE certified for automotive and small equipment. He also has a number of years of experience with operating heavy equipment like backhoes and front loaders.
Type of Ride Work
Mostly western and rodeo events as well as a lot of trail riding. A little time spent in an English saddle would love to learn more. All self taught with no formal training.
Competition Details
Preformed with equine drill team for rodeos and parades. Small town local rodeos and Showmanship Competitions. Was mostly focused on functional ridding not competition. Money was an issue that kept me from spending more time in the show arena.
