We have an opportunity for an Experienced Groom to join our professionally run competitive family Showjumping stable based in Mount White, on the NSW Central Coast, Australia.

Working as part of a team to a high standard, duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensuring all horses are accurately and correctly supplied with their feeds and supplements. • Identifying any injuries and health issues, reporting these accurately and treating them accordingly • Tacking up and untacking horses at home, training and some competitions. • Lunging, exercising where required. • Organising and packing/unpacking trucks and vehicles for competitions. • Turning out horses to a high level - including clipping, trimming and plaiting for competitions. • Ensuring the barn and stables are clean and tidy at all times, including mucking out, etc. • Any other groom duties as required.

Knowledge and experience:

• Some previous competition grooming experience would be highly regarded. • Must be competent in handling horses of all sizes including large, fit competition horses • Experience in bandaging, wound care, administering medications and providing general first aid (familiarity with FEI rules and regulations regarding treatments etc is an advantage but not essential) • Experience and confidence in driving horse trucks and floats (licence to drive a medium/heavy ridged truck is highly desirable, however not essential)

The ability to work as part of a team as well as an individual is essential, as is a positive and “can do” attitude.
