McDermott Farms is currently seeking a highly experienced and capable horse breaker to join our stables at Mulgoa and Coolamon NSW . The position is full-time 38 hrs with early morning starts and require a person to work weekends on a roster.

HORSE TRAINER/BREAKER - able to ride 8 - 10 horses per morning with proven ability to educate young horses. Ability to educate young horses on the ground plus swimming and barrier education. The salary will be above award - above $75,000 depending upon the level of skill.

Essential Skills:

All applicants must have a minimum of 3 year full time professional experience in the role and be able to prove they are reliable workers with excellent horsemanship skills. In addition the following will be required:

Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing. Proven ability to train and educate young horses. Understand and carry out excellent horse welfare knowledge An excellent level of English to be able to communicate in the work place and take instruction. Excellent written communication skills to produce weekly reports and knowledge of software to produce videos and photos. A current Police Check will be required.
