We are looking for a new live-in staff member to join our team. Experience in horse care is mandatory. Coaching experience is preferred but candidate with willingness to work towards instructor certification under our mentorship program will be considered. Our stable has a dressage focus, with Head Coach competing at Grand Prix and developing an up and coming 4-year-old Dutch import. Resident position: responsible for assisting the owner/head coach in overseeing the riding school and boarding stable. Will be responsible for managing property and staff when owner is away. Stable management: responsible for 10-15 horses, supervising staff and all care (professional, high-quality care). Physical fitness mandatory, mucking/cleaning required, basic property maintenance (weeding, fence repair, etc). Coaching: Much of our coaching is recreational, beginner English (following BHS/Pony Club/EC standards), including starting new riders and teaching summer riding camps. If you are wanting to work towards your coaching certification, this is a great place to gain experience under a diverse team of coaches. If you are already certified, come join us and our full roster of students. Beautiful property, indoor & outdoor arenas, well established and respected business with full client list. Accommodation is 2-bedroom suite above barn with w/d, dishwasher, heated bathroom floors, mountain/barn/field view. Work term lengths have ranged from 6 months (minimum) to 5 years; we are flexible. No work visa supplied. 15 horse riding school and boarding facility on 30 acres in the country, with close access to city and amenities. Basic English riding school program with a dressage focus. Indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Head coach is Equestrian Canada certified Competition Coach Specialist - Dressage; 3 assistant coaches are BHS or EC Instructor of Beginner certified. School horses are mixed breed, lessons are mostly recreational beginner with an emphasis on correct basics and horsemanship (Pony Club, EC, BHS standards). Most lessons are private, with a few semi-private or group, so stable is a quieter pace, but still busy (as all stables are!). We strive to keep our horses and facility to the highest standards. Head coach is competing at Grand Prix and bringing up a 4 year old Dutch warmblood. Boarders are mixed (Lusitano, TB, Cob cross) all schooling basic dressage. Friendly family atmosphere with zero drama tolerated. Very pleasant accommodation above stable for barn manager/coach.
