Working Student at Queenswood Stables

Queenswood Stables is a gorgeous equine facility located in Navan Ontario, just minutes outside of Ottawa. Queenswood specializes in excellent care, maintenance, training and sales of exceptionally trained and bred horses.

Queenswood offers a working student position to young individuals looking to learn all there is to know about horse care with the benefits of receiving lessons from high-level coaches to improve their riding skills and horsemanship.

The Work

The average day for the working students begins with feeding, turnout, and mucking stalls. Once the morning chores have been completed, the student will assist our coaches with tacking, warming up, and training our sales and competition horses.

Compensation

Room and board will be provided as well as a small stipend for food and other personal expenses. In addition to the daily riding, you will be provided an official riding lesson from one of our coaches weekly. In your spare time, there are other opportunities to ride so that you can practice and consolidate your newly learned skills.

Accommodation

The accommodation is shared in a house trailer on the property.

Requirements

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to improve your riding and learning all there is to know about horse care. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about horses, and who have good organisational skills. Hard working, energetic, polite, kind, and a positive attitude will be a huge asset to the working student chosen for this position.
