Are you a dynamic, professional individual with a passion for horses? Pony Tales Stables is looking for a Horse Riding Instructor and Yard Assistant to become part of our team in the scenic Killarney countryside (just a 10-minute drive from Killarney town), located in the beautiful South West region of Ireland.
As a Horse Riding Instructor, you’ll have the chance to share your love for horses with riders of all abilities, from beginners to experienced riders. You’ll lead both group and private lessons, including therapeutic riding sessions for those with additional needs, helping our riders improve their skills and strengthen their connection with their equine companions.
Alongside teaching, you'll assist with essential yard duties, including feeding, mucking out, grooming, and ensuring the health and well-being of our horses. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment will be vital in delivering the highest quality care for our horses.
At Pony Tales Stables, we foster a professional yet fun atmosphere. We’re looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a passion for creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all riders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as you’ll be working closely with riders and their families daily. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
While previous experience as a horse riding instructor and stable management knowledge is desirable, we also welcome applicants who are passionate about horses and eager to learn and develop in this role. Candidates must hold an EU or British passport, or possess a valid work permit.

Requirements
Before beginning your role with us, it is essential to complete Garda vetting. We are looking for confident, capable individuals who can work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a positive, outgoing personality, a fun-loving attitude, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
In this position, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our therapeutic riding program, which supports individuals with additional needs and challenges. You will also be responsible for teaching riders of all ages and abilities, from children to adults. We are not just seeking someone to fill a position, but rather a passionate individual who wants to be an active and valued member of our vibrant team.
This role requires someone who is not afraid of physical work and has a genuine enthusiasm for working with horses. If you do not have prior experience with horses, we kindly ask that you refrain from applying. We appreciate your understanding.

For the right candidate, we will cover the cost of BHS exams and provide training assistance. Wages are paid weekly directly into your bank account, and holiday pay is provided in line with employment regulations. You’ll also receive branded staff clothing, including jackets, hoodies, and t-shirts.
You’ll start with a paid one-month trial, and if successful, you may be offered a 12-month contract.
