Holiday equestrian center, focused on riding tours on the beach and in the water, looking for an experienced groom/farrier to join the team.

This is a riding and grooming position (no mucking and cleaning) with daily grooming horses and trimming hooves and shoeing as necessary. Training young horses according to ability.

Live in optional. Shared accommodation at the property.

Responsibilities:

• Daily grooming, bathing and hoof picking of horses on schedule.
• Daily / weekly trimming and shoeing hooves on schedule or as necessary.
• Take horses in and out of the arena.
• Train horses (groundwork and riding) according to ability - further training provided for the role.
• Apply medication on horses as needed.
• Assist tour guides to groom and tack up if / when needed for the tours.
• Assist the vet as needed.

Salary guide: set biweekly + shared tips from the tours.

Proven grooming and farrier experience. Turn in/out. Groom, pick hooves, trim and shoe. Tack up - saddle, bridle; vet assistance as needed. Experience handling young horses, mares and stallions. Experience (or willing to learn) training young and green horses.

Personal qualities: punctual, diligent, efficient. Responsible and able to work in a team and alone with minimal supervision.
