As we are a small, friendly, family run organisation it is important that you will be able to work as part of a team. Duties will include all the usual yard work associated with such a position. In addition to the yard work an exciting and rare opportunity will exist to be part of the team that assists the vet with the breeding programme, from insemination to foaling and any treatments required. You will therefore be able to gain first hand knowledge of this particular aspect of equine management. Newton Stud is at the forefront of Equine reproduction and is one of the UK’s leading AI and embryo transfer centres for sports horses. Starting from small roots breeding our own dressage and show jumping horses, we have expanded over a relatively short period of time into providing an AI and foaling service for clients throughout the country and we now also have a state of the art laboratory for performing OPU and ICSI. Our sister company, Elite Stallions, imports semen from the top European studs for customers both in the UK and throughout Europe. We currently have around 250 horses at livery, made up of broodmares, recipient mares and young stock. We have 3 resident stallions standing with us each season, with plans to increase this number. Based a short distance from us, is the Elite Dressage training stables where most of our young-stock go to start their careers, giving us the unique opportunity to see how all of our babies progress.
