EQUESTRIAN APPRENTICESHIP (Level 2 or 3) - Are you looking to achieve your qualifications but don’t feel the classroom is for you? We will soon have a vacancy for a full time apprentice at St Giles Dressage. New built facilities (indoor, outdoor arena, hacking). The role will includes general horse care including mucking out, grooming, preparing horses for competitions, tack cleaning, and exercising (this is dependent on riding ability- for competing out youngsters you need a competition record at Medium level at least. The opportunity to ride at shows and training days. Applicants must be confident handling fit competition horses and young stock (most horses are over 16.2hh). Riding training given if riding capabilities are above BD medium. All training will be provided with Haddon Training on site, so this would suit someone who would prefer to learn on the job rather than in a classroom. Riding lessons by GP trainer. A work-based apprenticeship will: • Help you work at the commercial speed equine employers expect. • Increase your confidence in working with horses, in a team and in the workplace. • Give you the skills and knowledge to become a competent member of staff. • Give you a reference for your CV. • Provide you with essential employability skills to give you the best start in your working life. Private yard with 2 international dressage riders. Shared accommodation in lovely cottage with high speed internet. Driving license advantageous. Own horse can be accommodated too (perk). Apprentiship wage, 30hrs per week. Working hours 7-11 am and 3-5 pm. (Time to ride your pony / horse in a long lunchbreak).

🤍ST GILES STUD🤍 Stud: All our horses live out as we have loads of land and paddocks. Stabling for foaling and weaning. Broodmares & Youngstock, no covering stallions (we do mostly AI / ET). We keep the foals, rear them and back them. During the studseason it’s foaling, covering and foalssnuggling / handling.

Youngstock handling & backing: For backing we work with very experienced people who will have a kind approach to make human and ridden loving, relaxed performance horses out of these woolly mammoth. If you are experienced or want to learn as the second person on the ground or even riding out - we do loads of lunging and hacking at the early stage.

Glebe Farm: High end facilities with outdoor & indoor arena, Advanced horses - some ridden to GP. 2 riders on site - one has ridden up to PSG with numerous wins nationally and a international renounced GP rider. Here we need competition grooming, tacking up for riders, bringing in and out.
