At Belmont Farm we are looking for a qualified Farm hand with relevant experience within the animal sector, management, volunteer workers and a passion for all animals (big and small!). You must possess great communication skills as you will be required to work and manage a team (both staff and volunteers) alongside regular animal duties and sessions with visitors throughout the day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a get up and go kind of attitude. Equally someone who has relevant IT skills, experience with volunteers and how to manage them effectively- conversing with local colleges, universities and schools building strong relations with them
Due to the nature of the job we are looking for physically strong people to join the team who have a passion for farming, education and working alongside an already established team in a fast paced ever changing environment!
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in the animal sector with a wide range of animals- not just localised to farm animals but exotics too, be confident interacting with visitors during educational tours, public talks, and animal interaction activities; will have the ability to work in a pressurised environment with a successful hard working team; and a passion for working with animals and educating the public.
Additionally experience with organising volunteer applications, conversing with local education systems, going through emails and arranging trial days/ educating the volunteers when they arrive
If successful at interview, candidates will be required to work a trial day at the farm.
Due to the nature of the business, DBS checks will be carried out on the successful candidate.
Salary is dependent on experience, accommodation available if required.
