Apprentice post learning all aspects of stud/ competition yard duties. Supervised by Haddon Training - Preparation and training qualifications up to Stage/Level 3(poss BHS) . All exam fees paid. We compete up to 5* level in eventing with dressage and SJ during the winter. Opportunity for a competent rider to compete our young horses in Dressage/SJ, and eventing. Ideally applicants should be reasonable riders as we are always looking for a 2nd string competition rider to assist our senior rider however this is not essential as riding lessons form part of the training. Must be ambitious and conscientious- the work is very hard and only motivated people will succeed. Our yard manager/senior rider is a hard task master in both riding and stable management - this is not liberty hall and only the best will do and our students become the best. Those who prosper here go on to super jobs but some fall by the wayside and we are disappointed if we have invested time and energy in people who do not want to excel. You have been warned! Wages quoted are for a 40 hour week (5 days)
Requirements
Diligent and hardworking individual required who knows the basics such as mucking out, sweeping, leading out etc. We will teach the rest. We work to a high standard and expect all staff to strive to maintain this. Candidates must be prepared to be required to work to the highest standards - the rewards are enormous as you could ride our competition horses as junior rider and make a name for yourself. Alternatively, if you are less interested in competition riding you will still receive a top flight education in equine/stud management. Look us up on our website or FB.
