Help Wanted: Part-Time Equine Care Adult for Horsemanship Program (Non-Profit)
New Canaan Mounted Troop is a non-profit riding school that has been around for over 85 years! We are seeking a Part-Time Adult in the Barn to join our Horsemanship Program team. This hands-on role involves working closely with youth, ensuring a safe and positive barn environment, and leading by example in daily equine care activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hands-on barn day activities, prioritizing safety.
- Train and mentor barn day captains, assist with chores and tacking/grooming.
- Communicate effectively with parents, addressing any concerns or needs.
- Provide feedback and progress reports for participants.
- Be a positive role model for troopers and parents.
Opportunities for Growth:
- Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to substitute teach for our lesson program (basic equitation/hunter/jumper lessons).
Position Details:
- Part-time, with program hours: Weekdays 3:00–8:30 PM, weekends 9:30 AM–5:30 PM (or partial shifts).
