Help us with our US Pony Club program at hunt/dressage/western pleasure facility that also does training, boarding, equine rehab, equine assisted psychotherapy, and rescue horse training. Learn Horse Whispering, do regular barn chores as well as manage the rest of the crew, and help provide first aide, medical maintenance and alternative therapies. NO mud, NO wheelbarrows as we are a modern farm with tractors.

Whimsy Brook Farm, Ltd is a Connecticut Horse Farm of Environmental Distinction, a MODERN, 53-year-old facility that is holistically oriented and veterinarian-owned. We are engaged in training, boarding, and providing alternative equine rehab therapies, as well as offering horse science instruction and private/semi-private mounted riding lessons to children and adults. We also offer equine-assisted psychotherapy and are a Licensed United States Pony Club Riding Center.

The Candidate needs to be a non-smoker, able to drive a tractor, and work well with others, effectively manage a team, and will participate with the rest of the crew in the general care of horses including stall cleaning (no wheelbarrows and only 12 stalls), feeding, watering, turning out, blanketing and unblanketing, grooming, leg wrapping, tacking up/untacking/cleaning tack. If we feel you are competent to do so, you may be asked to school horses.

You must be well versed in horse science, including weights and measures, humane restraint, thorough knowledge of riding/training equipment, horse clothing, hoof care, and medical record-keeping. The position requires a detail-oriented, organized, cheery team leader, who is willing to follow established protocols and able to give constructive feedback to supervisees, including interns, in a positive fashion.
