USHWR is seeking a well-rounded, knowledgable equestrian with enough experience to manage a team of amazing volunteers and provide top notch care for a herd of 15. Responsibilities will include AM feeding/turn out, blanket changes, mid day feedings, evening turn in and feeding several days per week, mucking stalls, managing waters, etc alongside volunteers, scheduling volunteers, assisting program/lesson clients. Skills we seek: able to admin meds, wound care/dressing changes, know signs of illness (colic, etc), be able to spot safety issues on farm.

Equestrian Employer Details
We are a small nonprofit horse rescue located on our 20-acre private homestead. Currently, 12 rescue horses reside here, some will live out their days here, others are available for adoption. We work to continue training all horses and keep them moving and in shape, knowing that the healthy horse stands a better chance of a safe future. Many of our equines provide lessons for beginners to advanced intermediates. Most of our chores get done with the help of amazing volunteers but we are in need of an experiences horse person to take on barn management, volunteer management, lesson programs, equine-assisted learning programs, fundraising, event planning and property maintenance.
