GROOM is primarily responsible for the grooming of 3-4 horses and assisting with the upkeep of the facilities. The individual must have grooming experience and an interest in deepening their understanding and experience to become a high level show groom. There may be opportunities to flat ride and hack horses on their off days from training.
Dedication to a team oriented approach, effective communication skills, and a desire to learn and grow are high priorities for this job.
Duties include: -Primary care, point person, and oversight for 3-4 assigned horses -Twice daily mucking of stalls -Feeding (including Night Check) -Turning horses out in paddocks and Hand-walking horses -Horse Laundry and Orderly upkeep of premises -Tacking up/untacking horses before and after workouts, including cleaning tack -Warming up/cooling down horses before and after workouts -Lunging -Body clipping -Flat Riding for off day excercise -Packing/unpacking for competitions
