Overview: Circle F Dude Ranch Camp seeks an experienced and passionate Head of Riding to lead our equestrian program. This key leadership role involves managing a dynamic team of 12 riding staff, working closely with our full-time Barn Manager and Wrangler, and overseeing the care and use of our herd of 60 horses. As the Head of Riding, you will ensure the safe, educational, and enjoyable operation of all horseback riding activities while fostering a positive and supportive team culture. Additionally, you will support the overall success of the camp by assisting with various summer program needs.

Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership:

• Oversee horseback riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines, tailored to campers’ varying skill levels.
• Plan and manage trail rides, horsemanship classes, and other equestrian activities.
• Maintain high safety standards for all riders, horses, and staff during program activities.

Staff Management:

• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of 12 riding staff
• Conduct staff meetings, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to program goals and safety protocols.

Camper Experience:

• Foster an engaging and educational environment where campers build riding skills, confidence, and a love for horses..

Administrative Duties:

• Manage schedules for riding lessons, staff assignments, and horse usage.
• Maintain accurate records of horse care, camper progress, and program inventory.

Campwide Support:

• Facilitate and assist with all other summer program needs, including evening programs, campfire activities, and special events.
• Actively participate in creating a cohesive and dynamic camp environment by supporting non-equestrian activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in equestrian instruction and program management, with knowledge of both English and Western disciplines.
• Previous camp program experience is highly preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Must have experience teaching and working with both staff and children.

This is a live in position- Head of Riding will live in a cabin with other leadership staff.
