Winter hunting and prep, summer pony club. 6 days a week - ideally Mon (pm), Tues (am), Wed (am), Thurs (am) Fri (pm), Sat (am/pm). Horses live out in day and in at night in winter and out in summer. Could work well alongside another job. Daily mucking out/ poo picking. Monday and Friday evening hunting prep (wash). Hunting mornings (Tues and Sat) help with prep/ plaiting

Looking for an immediate licensed technician (in any state) or an experienced veterinary assistant who loves sports medicine. Can you take xrays? Huge plus. Do you know how to run Prostride? Also a huge plus. Most important traits are desire to be working with AA show horses in tristate area and Wellington FL, horse sense, preparing sterile fields for joint injections, ability to flex horses and lift heavy things, and giving clients incredible service. I love to mentor and support the careers of our team, so you will build relationships with the best horses, owners, trainers, and farriers in the business.
List of responsibilities:
Requirements: —Non smoker —Clean drivers license and legal to work in US —No personal cell phone use or texting while working —No texting while driving company vehicle —Dress code: No nose rings for safety (studs ok) Clean, preppy look: clean jeans with a belt; no ripped jeans. Collared shirts. Shirts must cover back when bending over (no skin showing). Boots or shoes that protect feet from being stepped on. —Must be able to carry heavy equipment (lifting 70 lb shockwave, xray machine, ultrasound) repeatedly in and out of the truck.
There is a 30 day probationary period.
Weekly salary $1,120; rate is higher if you are licensed. Based out of NJ for roughly 8 months of the year and Wellington, FL for the winter months.
Additional Salary Information: 3 weeks paid vacation. Paid Florida housing for WEF winter season. Paid CE. Health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance all 100% paid for by Steele and Associates. No employee contribution! Retirement plan includes both 401k and Pension and profit sharing plan that is unheard of in todays market: Paid maternity/paternity leave.
This job is very rewarding, but it does require adaptability for last minute schedule changes. It is routinely a 40 hour work week, but it is not a 9-5 schedule.
Come join our ambulatory equine-only sports medicine practice working on Grand Prix jumper, dressage, and hunter horses! We’re based in the Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) for the warm part of the year and Wellington FL for the winter half of the year; you get to skip the cold, and be where all the action happens.
