Equestrian Employer Details

Three Peaks Ranch, home today to a herd of 40 NOLS horses and a tight-knit community of in-town staff, holds a special history for both NOLS and greater Wyoming. Located in Boulder, in 1972 the ranch was purchased by NOLS as a permanent horsepacking base. Tucked into the foothills of the Wind River Range, Three Peaks’ support for students is two-fold: horsepackers ride food and gear re-supplies to summer backpacking courses, and students learn to horsepack through the Red Desert, the Absaroka Range, and the Wind River Range.

NOLS is a nonprofit global wilderness school that seeks to help people step forward boldly as a leader. We believe that anyone can be a leader; it is our role to provide the environment and training to help people discover their full potential. We do that in classrooms close to home and in remote wilderness areas around the world. We are an organization with heart, expertise, and wildness, and these qualities help us support powerful, authentic experiences.
